This site hosts the largest searchable collection of Alex Mustard’s underwater photography available anywhere online. With more than 11,000 curated images, the collection represents the top percentage of Alex’s total work — each photograph has been personally selected to showcase his best images. The gallery is updated regularly as new photos are taken and processed.

The search facility is optimised for locations (countries, regions, oceans, seas, etc.) and species (common or Latin names). All images are fully captioned and keyworded with details including colour, behaviour, and environment — and all spelling follows UK English.

Search tips:
  • Typing “ray” will include stingrays, manta rays, sun rays, and even morays.

  • Partial words work well — “nudib” will find all nudibranch images.

  • Avoid plurals — “fish” returns both “fish” and “fishes”.

  • Unsure about spacing? Try the simpler part of a word, e.g. “fan” will find “seafan” and “sea fan”.

  • You can also search by camera model (e.g. “Nikon D850”), lens focal length (e.g. “13.0”), or even year. Searching “mustard” displays the entire collection, starting with the most recent uploads.
