An aggregation of brown surgeonfish (Acanthurus nigrofuscus) gathered at the edge of the reef for spawning at dusk. One group (on right) hs separated from the main group to spawn. Other gamete clouds (of eggs and sperm) show spawnings from moments before. Almost invisible in the background (on left), a yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) was hunting these fish while they were distracted by mating. Ras Umm Sid, Sinai, Egypt. Red Sea.
