A blue ring octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata) is small (golfball-sized) and dangerous. Most octopuses can deliver a venomous bite, but generally it is a mild weapon. The blue ring is one of the most venomous creatures in the ocean, its bite injects a neurotoxin that paralyses its victim. It flashes its blue rings to warn it is not to be trifled with. Kapalai Island, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia. Sulu Sea.
