A stand of thongweed (spaghetti seaweed: Himanthalia elongata) in sun beams surrounded by kelp (Laminaria sp.). This common seaweed has a two stage morphology, seen here is the strap-like reproductive frond, which can reach up to 2m in length. The other form are small button-like thalli growing on the seabed. Lundy Island, Devon, England, British Isles. English Channel.
