Two female common seahorses (yellow seahorse: Hippocampus kuda) fighting over territory on the seabed. The brief fight was preceeded by a ritualised, synchronised parade. Bitung, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Lembeh Strait, Molucca Sea.
This species is often called the yellow seahorse, although typically the males are brown and the females a variation of yellow. In Lembeh, where I took these shots it is more common that the females are orange.
