An oceanic manta (manta ray: Mobula birostris) appears from behind a curtain of schooling Pacific creolefish (Paranthias colonus). Mantas don’t feed on fish this size, but the arrival of the large ray was enough to startle the fish. Cape Marshall, Isabela Island, Galápagos National Park, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. East Pacific Ocean.
