The elaborate morphology and drifting motion of an ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) keeps it disguised as it mingles unnoticed in a school of glassy cardinalfish (Rhabdamia sp.). But the ghost pipefish is also a predator and if you look closely inside its snout you can see it has just eaten one of the unsuspecting cardinalfish. Bitung, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Lembeh Strait, Molucca Sea.
