A shoal of cod (Gadus morhua) milling about in a kelp forest. These cod were gathered in early spring off the north coast of Iceland to spawn. Most fish were about 1m in length. This was photographed during a two week break in fishing season, to allow the fish to spawn. Water temperature 1˚C. Thorshofn, Iceland. North Atlantic Ocean.
