A diver (Jónína Ólafsdóttir) explores a hydrothermal chimney. The diver is obscured behind the hot water billowing out of a side vent in the chinmey, which does not mix with the surrounding sea water because of the temperature/density difference. The white rock is newly deposited by the hydrothermal water, but the whole structure has been built by the hydrothermal activity. Arnarnes Strytur chimney, Eyjafjordur, Iceland. North Atlantic Ocean. Model released.
