A diver and a hydrothermal chimney. Here the diver is reaching into the hot water coming out of the geothermal chimney, note that his hand is clear but the rest of him is obscured by the different temperature waters which are unable to mix. The sea water was 4˚C and the chimney gives out water at close to 100˚C. The Arnarnes Strytur chimney, Eyjafjordur, Iceland. North Atlantic Ocean. Model released.
