A male sergeant major (Abudefduf saxatilis) cleans his nest on the wreck of the Kittiwake. The male is showing his dark mating colouration here and his characteristic purple eggs are visible behind him. Although the wreck had been underwater for less than 4 year, it is already widely colonized and used by marine life. Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
