A secretary blenny (Acanthemblemaria maria) makes its home in a boulder brain coral (Colpophyllia natans). These gregarious tube blennies tend to occupy old wormholes in the coral and form small colonies with a strict social hierarchy. The larger dominant males, like this one, occupy the most spacious worm tubes and prefer holes highest up in the colony, where they have the easiest access to their planktonic food. This belnny is spotlit by a snooted strobe. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
