A pair of barred hamlets (Hypoplectrus puella) spawning at dusk (with backlighting). Hamlets are one of the few vertebrate species that are true hermaphrodites. The fish in the foreground is acting as the female here, but this pair spawned again minutes later with the roles reversed. Wreck of the Oro Verde, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
