A pair of barred hamlets (Hypoplectrus puella) spawning at dusk (long exposure used to produce blue background). Hamlets are one of the few vertebrate species that are true hermaphrodites. The fish in the foreground (mouth open) is acting as the male here, but this pair spawned again minutes later with the roles reversed. George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
