A fingerprint cyphoma (false cowrie: Cyphoma signatum) feeding on a sea rod (soft coral). Cyphomas feed on corals and concentrate the toxic chemicals into their mantle, which they then wrap around the outside of its white shell. The mantle is brightly coloured to warn predators of its toxicity. The mantle also absorbs oxygen from the water. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
