Twp photos of the same colony of mountainous star coral (Orbicella faveolata, previously Montastraea faveolata) spawning taken one year apart. On the left, in 2005, despite being bleached the coral spawned and then in 2006, right, spawn again when recovered from bleaching. This photo shows the synchronous release of bundles of eggs and sperm. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
