A mimic octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) spreads its arms over the sand. Octopus and cuttlefish are masters of disguise and while many other animals use hormones to slowly change colour over time, these molluscs have nervous control over their appearance and can alter their body size, colour and texture in an instant.
