Cuttlefish Eggs, Devon, UK
Cuttlefish eggs (Sepia officinalis) laid in a clutch attached to a piece of seaweed. The black colour of the eggs comes from the cuttlefish's ink, which the female injects into her eggs as she lays them. Taken in spring (April), when the eggs were newly laid. They take about 2 months to hatch. Babbacombe Bay, Torquay, Devon, England. British Isles. English Channel
