A secretary blenny (Acanthemblemaria maria) in a hole in a sponge (Cliona sp.) covered coral rock. The sponge is also covered in zoanthids (Parazoanthus parasiticus) which live here safe from predation because few species can stomach the sponge’s poisonous flesh. The sponge also creates feeding currents that help provide food to the regularly spaced zoanthids. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
