A colony of mountainous star coral (Montastraea faveolata) spawning at night in late summer. This photo shows the synchronous release of bundles of eggs and sperm from the polyps of the coral. At this stage some of the polyps still have bundles within them. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
