A flamingo tongue (cowrie: Cyphoma gibbosum) feeding on sea rods (soft corals). Cyphomas feed on corals and concentrate the toxic chemicals into their mantle, which they then wrap around the outside of its white shell. The mantle is brightly coloured to warn predators of its toxicity. The mantle also absorbs oxygen from the water. East End, Grand Cayman, Cayman Island, British West Indies. Caribbean Sea.
